Children laugh and children play, It's just another sunny day: Their faces smile, but their eyes are cold; Pain and fear are taking hold. -------------- A crash, a bang, a blast of heat; Children thrown from their feet; Bullets speak and children die; Just another star in the sky. ------------- Bodies fall and houses burn, Sightless eyes skyward turn: Blood is blood, it's all the same, Death is no longer just a game. -------------- Fathers die for their beliefs, Mothers die for their childrens lives; Fear holds all within its grasp, Which breath will be the last? -------------- They run, they hide, They were born on the wrong side. ---------------- Into the silence rings a cry - "What have we done? Why? Why must we flee our past Before this day is our last?" ---------------- The endless miles they walk; No energy now for talk; No tears now left to cry; And still they know not why. ----------------- They must search for new lands, Taking with them only empty hands, Forced to walk mile on mile, Never daring to rest a while. --------------- Ceaseless thunder from the skies, Behind them another village dies. Broken hearts and battered souls, Forgotten dreams and shattered worlds. ------------- The only hope a strangers kindness, Offering respite from madness. A land in peril, a land in pain, It must be made whole again. ------------ It doesn't matter why you fight: Killing's killing, and never right.
